Softonic review

Free space-themed incremental game

Albeit currently in the Early Access stage and is getting continuously updated by the developers, the free-to-play incremental simulation game Unnamed Space Idle is already shaping up to provide enjoyable gameplay. In it, you must equip your spaceship with weapons and armor to outlast the hordes of alien aircraft trying to wipe you out.

With lots of upgrades to unlock

Much of Unnamed Space Idle’s gameplay is based on strategy, which players can quickly learn as they dive into it. At first, there is a limited amount of upgrades that can be purchased. New ones get unlocked as you defeat each wave’s boss, reaching up to ten different systems, like core, synth, void device, prestige, reactor, and more.

Since the mechanics demand you to play the long game, every single upgrade made is crucial. Otherwise, you’d end up wasting hours’ worth of gameplay having focused on the wrong upgrades and needing to restart the game. Besides that learning curve to beat, the overall slow trickle of experience is enjoyable.

Enjoyable idle space game

Developer studio Sylv combines strategic decision-making and idle gameplay properties in the out-of-this-world game Unnamed Space Idle, that’s for sure. Start from scratch and slowly transform your lowly spaceship into a formidable system of weapons by upgrading and unlocking different systems one at a time.

PROS

  • Ideal for idle game enjoyers
  • A variety of build options

CONS
